Absorbable thread Absorbable sutures are divided into catgut sutures, chemically synthesized sutures (PGA), and pure natural collagen sutures according to the material and degree of absorption.
1. Catgut:
It is made from healthy animal goat intestines and contains collagen, so there is no need to remove the suture after suture. Medical catgut is divided into: ordinary catgut and chrome catgut, both of which can be absorbed. The length of time required for absorption depends on the thickness of the gut and the condition of the tissue.
